YOUR LAWN GUIDE FORM TURFMAN BRISBANE

Congratulations you have your new lawn installed! To help your lawn to establish and look great, here are some tips. you can also find these tips on our website www.turfman.com.au.

NEW LAWN ESTABLISHMENT PERIOD

WATERING
Watering is the most crucial part to the successful establishment of your new lawn. Water MUST be applied immediately after being laid until the soil is wet and slightly soft. After that, start with twice a day for three weeks, and then if the roots are growing well (if you can’t lift the corner up, that means the roots are growing well) water every day for another 2-4 weeks. If you notice any dryness, especially during summer, please water your lawn immediately and regularly until the weather temperature cools down.

FIRST MOW
In general, you can first mow your lawn in 3-4 weeks after establishment. However don’t put it off for too long, you don’t want to scalp your brand new lawn.

PESTS
While your new lawns are establishing themselves, they can attract a variety of lawn pests. If you suspect you have a problem, please contact us and we can refer you to a professional pest control person to make a recommendation.

Common signs that pests have invaded your turf include brown spots, dead and dying lawn patches, wilting blades, bite marks on grass and of course, insects in the grass or turf layer.

WEEDS
We spray all the turf 1-2 weeks before harvesting, however, there are times when weeds can germinate and appear during the establishment period. If you notice a weed appear in your lawn, the best way is to remove it physically, or you can treat it with an appropriate herbicide.
